Fabian’s Armilla is a perfectly round and peculiarly beautiful blown glass pendant lamp that pays homage to Copernicus, of all people.

Modeled on the “Renaissance depictions of the motions of stars and planets,” Armilla captures the age when early astronomers began to make imaginative models of planetary rings. These “armillary spheres” established a unique artistic form in their own right.

Armilla lamps are 36 cm in diameter. The diffuser is glossy white blown glass with metal rings (gold, chrome, and bronze) incorporated into the molten glass just after the shape is achieved.

Armilla is available as a table lamp as well. They work with halogen, fluorescent, and LED bulbs.
