Sustainable Wood Flooring from Hull Forest Products
Up in the oft-underrated corner of the Northeast known as Connecticut, Hull Forest Products is doing their part to provide beautiful, sustainable wood flooring, paneling, and stair parts, while also off-setting the effects of climate change.
Purveyors of the largest sawmill in Southern New England, Hull provides forest management services across New England and New York–preserving working forests while keeping a tradition of sustainable wood craftsmanship.
Live sawn White Oak is one their favored products. These beautiful trees harbor a phenomenon known as epicormic branching, which leaves a legacy of knots in the grain of the wood.
The result is a beautifully consistent inconsistency–swirling, knotty patterns that look as if etched by an unseen arboreal artist.
Planks are 9-14″ wide with lengths of 6 to 12 ft. The White Oak has a rustic appearance, but is versatile enough to work in Modern schemes as well.
