Copeland Furniture’s Exeter Dining Table has enough aesthetic panache to recommend it on that basis alone.
A shining example of the company’s eclecticism (“influence from the Arts & Crafts, Mission, Shaker, and Scandinavian movements, resulting in a style best characterized as transitional”), Exeter is also a paragon of functionality and sustainable design.
Beginning as seating for six, Exeter easily expands into a dozen commodious dinner time spots, courtesy of a pair of self-storing leaf extensions (expanding a total of 40”) and ball-bearing glides that allow a single person to achieve the expansion in about 15 seconds flat.
In addition to the inherent eco-wise feature of expansion, Exeter is finished with a GREENGUARD-certified low-chemical-emission topcoat. Additionally, all Copeland products pay homage to the Vermont spirit of forest preservation and stewardship—all wood is sustainably harvested within 500 miles of the factory.
Finish options for Exeter include manifold shades of cherry: natural, autumn, cognac, saddle, and smoke. It's also available in a glass-top option.
