Just when you thought excellent construction was a thing of the past, Henrybuilt proves you wrong. The craftsmanship-minded company that began with well-built kitchen systems is now extending its line to include residential furniture. Their new Desk and Chair 2 are simple, timeless pieces with form and function at their heart: "I think there is a nice story here about how we work to create pieces that feel as much like beautiful tools as objects of decoration," explains Henrybuilt.
Woodworking Showcases Joinery Techniques
Available in Black Walnut, White Oak, and White Ash, the transparently named Desk and Chair 2 illustrate the rigorous design philosophy of Henrybuilt. Chair is made of seven solid wood parts united through "a variety of interlocking joinery techniques-including sliding dovetail and half-lap joints." No hardware whatsoever. Desk also uses this level of craftsmanship, which is "rare these days due to the labor that is required."
