Bissa & Bissona by Vistosi

Bissa & Bissona by Vistosi

Designed by Luciano Vistosi in 1968, Bissa and Bissona are sculptural table lamps by Vistosi that illustrate the beauty of Murano glass. Made of white crystal blown glass, Bissa and Bissona resemble organically shaped ship funnels. But the lambent glow of their material makes the lamps more ethereal than industrial. Bissa and Bissona are like the ghosts of ship stacks.

Bissa is the smaller model, measuring 8 inches in diameter and 12 inches in height. Bissona is bigger at 9.5 inches in diameter and 16.5 inches in height. Both lamps feature the characteristic bent at the top, which conceals the bulb within. The effect is mysterious, giving Bissa and Bissona a sense of imminence, as if the glass is still moldable and submissive.
