Dutch designer Jacco Maris has designed a minimalist family of lamps called Solo, which are cast from bronze or aluminum and polished by hand.

Hand cast from bronze or aluminium, the Solo lamps by Jacco Maris Design have a warm and sand-like texture.

Solo is available as a wall lamp in two sizes, outdoor wall lamp (with an optional built-in twilight switch), hanging lamp (two sizes) and as an uplighter lamp, and is made of bronze or aluminum in black, anthracite or white finishes.

A halogen reflector provides a pleasant, diffused light. The wall lamp shines upwards and downwards and the large version of the hanging lamp is also available with a dimmable fluorescent tube.

A paw print on the back of the lamp is an ode to Solo, Jacco Maris’s dog and the design’s namesake.

About the manufacturer: Established in 1994, Jacco Maris Design create unique lighting designs that are handcrafted in the firm’s Breda-based studio. The studio is particularly well known for creating elegant lighting designs from bent strips of steel, black steel and brass. Over the years, the studio have developed seven  lighting collections. Since 2001, the collections have been created in cooperation with Ben Quaedvlieg. The studio also create bespoke work for private clients and special projects.
