New Lighting from Brendan Ravenhill

Los Angeles-based design studio Brendan Ravenhill has launched three new sculptural lighting designs.

Minimal and light, the Bare Ring Sconce, the Cord Pendant and the Cord Sconce are all new designs from Brendan Ravenhill Studio.

A dynamic yet refined fixture, the Cord Pendant is anchored by a custom milled brass triangle that connects three steel arms, which each hold a bulb mounted in a porcelain socket .

A development of the studio's original Bare Light, the Bare Ring Sconce was designed in collaboration withEric Trine. Circled with an understated yet refined brass ring, the glass socket uses the logic of a lightbulb to enclose the light's electrical components. The Bare Ring sconce is hand blown in Los Angeles and precision assembled by the studio.

An evolutionary descendant of Jean Prouve's Swing Jib Lamp, the Cord Sconce has a simple in construction. The cloth electrical cord provides tension to hold the pivoting steel arm in place, while also discreetly hiding the mounting screws. In this hardwired version the aluminum bracket has been bolted to a powder coated steel wall plate which screws into the wall-mounted junction box.
