Listening to your customers is one of the most important rules to thumb in business, and that’s why when customers of Shaw Commercial Hard Surfaces asked for a vinyl plank flooring product that was available in wide planks and in a broad range of colors, they listened. The result is the Uncommon Ground range, 24 luxury wood-effect vinyls that are available in both four and six inch widths and in 48 colors.

Uncommon Ground combines ingenious, versatile design with high-performance engineering.

The range aims to please multiple market segments from hospitality to healthcare by providing finishes to suit every preference, from modern European wood patterns to more traditional American cherry and maple species. Creative Director, Pam Rainey explains  “Each color is embossed to translate to the pattern, so the rustic styles popular in retail and hospitality yield an authentic, true-to-nature texture.  Healthcare designers who traditionally shy away deep embossing will also find options in this collection, as the more traditional styles have a lighter wood ticking that remains easy to clean.”

Manufactured in South Korea using the safest plasticizers available, Uncommon Ground is constructed as a three millimeter, glue down LVP with a heavy commercial grade wear layer.  To ensure optimal performance in heavy traffic environments, planks are finished with Shaw's exclusive ExoGuardâ„¢ topcoat – reinforced with quartz for more wear resistance than basic urethane finishes.
