IIDEX 2012

opened in Toronto last week, with an eclectic mix product that ranged from contract furniture to artisan area rugs. The show has an emphasis on Canadian design, but international exhibitors line the showroom floor, with American manufacturers recognizing the importance of the Canadian market. Here are our highlights from the show.

4. Urban Retreat

Interface showcased a preview of UR501, the first addition to the core Urban Retreat collection that debuted earlier this year. On display along with the other patterns in the series was the skinny plank style, which officially launches later this fall.

This conceptual lighting by rising star Todd Bracher utilizes reflective surfaces to create an ever multiplying LED source. The illusion appears as several light sources when in fact there is only one.
