A Bittersweet Kitchen Symphony: The Verve Sliding Top by Minimal

Normally I think of a table that has a counter which can slide out as one that expands in size. But that’s all. It just gets bigger. An intuitive, modern Italian company known as Minimal took it upon themselves to create a sliding countertop that goes beyond expanding surface area. The Verve Sliding Top creates a portal for utility cooking and cleaning that can be hidden with the push of a finger.

Under the Verve Sliding Top Counter, a Stainless Steel Sink and Cooktop Call the Multi-Functional Design Home

White matte lacquer doors of 29 mm thickness (1.14″) brace the sides of the Verve Sliding Top with a 45° top edge. This playful color combination of white and the wood with stainless steel creates a balanced aesthetic that appears clean and illustrious. Speaking of the wood counter, Minimal uses a hand-crafted thermo acacia wood veneer for the sliding top. It’s sleek 3mm (1/8″) thickness harmonizes with the grace of electronic movement.

Within the large kitchen island that triples as a prep counter and dining bar, there is a brushed stainless steel used for the soldered sinks and retractable faucet, measuring in at 3mm (1/8”) thick. To finish off the edited work of art, this functional piece includes sunken Corian at 30mm (1.18″) thickness with 45° mitered edges (which match the angled edges of the white matte lacquer doors). Equipped with a soft-closing mechanism, custom wood drawers can be combined for a soft, warm effect.
