With Superbowl Sunday fast approaching after weeks of intense season and playoff games, perhaps the Lazy Boy is looking a little tired. While the manual recline lever and cup holder may have signified financial independence and a commitment to the game post-college, as a savvy, stylish adult the recliner is outdated. A simple, handsome chair for relaxing in style can be found in the Animavi Club Chair and Ottoman. Not only is this chair a mature step forward for game-day seating, it also takes the good of the environment to heart.
Animavi Club Chair and Ottoman. Designed by Anna-Pia Slothower for Animavi.
The Animavi Club Chair rests in a permanent state of recline with its ergonomically-contoured seat shell design and comfort curves at knee and neck. Each cushion is made from a soy-based hybrid foam whose source is considered rapidly renewable. Upholstery options include Ecolife Top Grain Leather by Green Hides which is a chromium-free, vegetable-tanned 100% biodegradable leather with water-based finishing. Another option is Divina 100% Natural Woven Felted Wool from Maharam; a natural, biodegradable product using heavy metal free dyes. The thin steel frame uses minimal material and is up to 88% recyclable.
According to the company, Animavi was founded on principles of sustainability that articulate the true meaning of ecologically intelligent design: more simply to create timeless design with a conscience. Animavi seeks to merge sophisticated contemporary design with truly sustainable manufacturing by offering products made for ultimate durability with the highest-quality sustainable materials. Each piece is designed with disassembly in mind, to create end-of-life recycling easier. All Animavi products are locally sourced and made in the USA.
