Chen Karlsson’s Favourite Things: A Lamp to Share Your Memories

Although I’m not one for tchotchkes, the occasional trinket strikes my fancy. It’s often the little things in life that make you smile, isn’t it? But rather than littering shelves and tabletops with these small objects, design studio Chen Karlsson proposes another solution: Favourite Things is a lamp and gallery for the home – to spread the light and tales of your favourite things. It manages to be quirky, clever, and beautiful all at once. The pendant light was introduced at the Stockholm Furniture Fair last month and belongs to Chen Karlsson’s Wednesday Dinner collection.

Made of polypropylene, the Favourite Things pendant light is 45cm in diameter and capable of being transformed on a daily basis if you so choose. A small hole in its side makes it easy to insert and display your ornaments, props or toys in style and without creating clutter (or dust)! Seeing as your “favourite things” may change periodically, this gallery is easily adapted as the trinket is easily replaced.

Karlsson is an Asian-Scandinavian design company composed of two families: Chen (Chen-Yen and Hung-Ming) and Karlsson (Tina and Johan). They bring together Eastern and Western heritage to design products for everyday life.
